The LSU Construction Industry Advisory Council (LSU CIAC) was established in 1997 to help build LSU’s Construction Management/Industrial Engineering Department into the premier training ground for construction managers who are ready to hit the ground running. LSU’s Construction Management/Industrial Engineering  program currently has one of the largest student enrollments in the country among universities with Construction programs.

CM/IE program at LSU is one of the top 10 in the country when it comes to enrollment and graduating professionals. We want to give the program the support it deserves. To do so, we need industry’s help. The LSU CIAC was organized under the umbrella of the LSU Foundation solely for the purpose of building support for the LSU CM/IE program. Tax-deductible annual membership dues of $1,000 are deposited into the Department’s account at the LSU Foundation. In return, LSU CIAC members provide guidance in determining how those dollars are spent and how the Department grows and evolves.

Members throughout the country are encouraged to sign up for Committees that best suits their interests, concerns and geographic locations. Committees include Curriculum & Accreditation, Department Enhancement, Finance & Governance, Membership & Fundraising, and Student Enhancement. Even supporters not currently in a position to become LSU CIAC members can make a tax-deductible contribution to the program.

If you wish to join the CIAC click here  for an application.

The CIAC is made up of Industry Leaders from around the country who want to help the curriculum develop and evolve as the industry evolves.

Members have the opportunity to give input through the organization to improve the curriculum and in return we work with professors to set up interview days and casual socials for employers and students to meet. Students who are invited to attend employer related events have an educational background that will include, but not limited to Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Companies can look for both full time employees and interns.
